The Costa Blanca area in particular is definitely the number 1 all
year around destination for northern Europeans looking for the ideal
home in the sun.
Torrevieja (the main town south of Alicante) stands out for its
conversion in recent years into a first-rate tourist centre in
addition to it's climate, which is very dry and regular throughout
the year with 360 sunny days and an average temperature of 18ºC this
area offers many attractive characteristics, magnificent beaches,
walks, parks, gardens and natural beauty spots, all within east
reach of the many real estate developments and residential
complexes.
North of Torrevieja is the popular town of Guardamar and north again
the excellent village of La Marina on the main N332 coast road
towards the fishing port of Santa Pola and then a further ten
minutes brings you to Alicante airport.
North of the city of Alicante following the N332 ( or the A7
motorway ) are the towns of San Juan, Campello, and Villajoyosa,
these towns have excellent promenades and facilities and are
becoming very popular with ex pats who prefer a more Spanish way of
life to that in some other areas.
Continuing north we come to the ever popular resort of Benidorm with
it's fabulous beaches and all year around entertainment, Altea,
Albir and Finestrat also feature in this really special part of the
Costa Blanca. Further north again are Calpe (with the famous Ifach
Rock) and then the beautiful small port of Moraira with it's
excellent restaurants, bars, and shops, further up the coast in this
lovely area are the towns of Javea and Denia .
